LSR7 Students Receive Recognition from National Merit Program
Seven high school students in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District received recognition from the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Lee’s Summit High School student Cara Cha’s high scores on the PSAT distinguish her as one of 16,000 Semifinalists nationwide, which is less than 1% of the county’s seniors. Cha can now apply to be one of the Finalists, who compete for 2,500 National Merit Scholarships in the spring.
Lee’s Summit West High School students Caleb Cox, Alex Gerhart, Libby Kerschen, Lauren Miller, Kyle Rooney and Tristan Russell are Commended Students. Their high scores on the PSAT distinguished them as among the top 50,000 scorers out of the 1.5 million students who took the test. Commended Student recognition reflects their outstanding potential for success.
