Elementary Nutrition Council chooses new community service project
Helping Nutrition Services Director Lori Danella plan school lunch menus and participating in learning activities surrounding food (this month the group explored radishes) aren’t the only initiatives the Elementary Nutrition Council is tackling this year.
The group of elementary school leaders have chosen a community service project for the second semester.
The council will be collecting care packages and raising money for Project Night Night, a national initiative that provides children in homeless shelters blankets, stuffed animals, educational materials and other items in canvas tote bags.
The group will spend the next several weeks collecting items and also encourages the community to donate online at Projectnightnight.org.
