Lee’s Summit R-7 high schools recognized in ‘U.S. News and World Report’ Best High Schools rankings

Lee’s Summit North High School and Lee’s Summit West High School were recognized through U.S. News and World Report’s annual “Best High Schools” ranking this spring.

LSNHS earned a silver medal and was ranked No. 20 among all Missouri high schools. LSWHS earned a bronze medal and was ranked No. 31 among state high schools.

This is the 10th year that the magazine has used its own criteria and ranking to determine which high schools are most successful. U.S. News and World Report teamed with the RTI International research firm to develop the criteria and rankings. According to the publication, the rankings are based serving all students well, not just those who are college bound, as well as producing measurable academic outcomes.

The magazine initially analyzed more than 28,000 public high schools from 50 states and the District of Columbia.
