Local women of the Class of 2018 invited to Packing Party

Lee’s Summit women in the high-school Class of 2018 are invited to the annual Packing Party, hosted by Launch and Lee’s Summit CARES. The event will be held June 19 at the Stanley Historic Event Space in downtown Lee’s Summit. Cost is $15 per ticket for a 2018 graduate and an additional $10 for the graduate’s mother or another female mentor.

The Packing Party includes dinner, appetizers, a professional photographer and a browsing fair with vendors ranging from fashion to personal safety equipment to organization to dorm decorating. Following the dinner, Latrese Kabuya of Action 41 News will usher the audience through an evening of fun, information and connection. Those attending will learn about nutrition, mental wellness through mindfulness and preventing sexual assault.

The evening will conclude with a presentation of the Launch Challenge, a small scholarship open to the attendees of the Packing Party. To learn more about requirements for the scholarship application or to purchase tickets, visit https://lslaunch.weebly.com/.
