LSR7 6th Grader Addison Ditamore chosen to represent Missouri at National Health and Wellness Program Conference
Addison Ditamore, a 6th grader at Sunset Valley, was selected as one of two Missouri representatives at a national conference for the largest in-school health and wellness program in the U.S.
Fuel Up to Play 60, created by the National Dairy Council, the NFL and the USDA, aims to empower student leaders and adult supporters to increase daily opportunities for healthy eating and physical activity in U.S. schools. LSR7 students have been selected to represent Missouri for the past three years.
Karen Reynolds, a PE teacher at SVE, joined Addison at the summit, which was held in Atlanta, Georgia, from July 16 to July 19. There, student leaders connected and shared ideas with each other, received leadership and communication training, and created plans to make their schools healthier.
Students listened to 12 different NFL speakers from six different teams, toured the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, participated in obstacle courses and played NFL flag football. Over 100 students and program leaders represented 47 states at the summit.
