LSR7 Students Support Shoe Charity
Students from the Summit Technology Academy in LSR7 raised funds and awareness for an international humanitarian project.
Students from STA’s Summit International Studies Academy (SISA) partnered with the Sunrise and Noon Rotary clubs in Lee’s Summit to support Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls, which provides new shoes and socks to children in need within the United States and throughout the world. Students used their social media insight to spotlight the campaign and relied on community-building skills to collect $145 in donations from local community groups and churches.
Through the Rotary Interact Club embedded in the class, service projects are a key part of the SISA student experience. Mr. Curtis Cook is the class instructor.
