Potential “no tax increase” April 2020 bond issue – updated webpage through CFMP site
Thank you to those who completed our community telephone survey and/or online surveys relating to a potential Spring 2020 “no tax increase” bond issue. We are currently in the information gathering stage of preparing for an anticipated “no tax increase” bond issue and are working with Patron Insight to finish compiling the survey data. The first round of telephone survey topline data was presented to the Citizens’ Advisory Committee and the Board of Education this week.
The district leadership team, school leadership teams, the Citizens’ Advisory Committee and the CFMP team have been working through many project ideas related to our anticipated Spring 2020 “no tax increase” bond issue. District leadership team members are visiting all of our schools to personally hear about needs and ideas not already captured in our CFMP research and planning. These visits are a great opportunity for us to hear from our teachers, staff, students and administrators.
We will be chronicling the survey results and project ideas throughout this information gathering phase on our CFMP webpage. We have devoted a portion of this webpage to a potential “no tax increase” information hub. It is currently housing our topline survey results presented to the Citizens’ Advisory Committee and Board of Education. It will be updated with project ideas, any proposed project architectural renderings, bonding capacity information and associated information as we continue to move through the information gathering process this fall.
One of the highlights of our process thus far has been engagement from Lee’s Summit High School students around their thoughts and ideas related to potential renovations and/or additions to Lee’s Summit High School. They have been providing relevant, thoughtful research and implementation ideas through student meetings and creative brainstorming.
As we continue to listen to their insight, our architectural partners will continue shaping and identifying project ideas for public viewing in the future. Our students are idea generators and their work is valuable in moving forward with decisions related to their future.
