Hundreds of young engineers, both current students and alumni, have one person in common: Nancy Spatz.

The Lee’s Summit West technology specialist and robotics coach and February Learning for Life winner plans and teaches STEM camps, supports tournaments, runs the LSW robotics program and fosters robotics programs across the district, including Trailridge Elementary’s.

The Lee’s Summit West Air Force JROTC is nationally-ranked after an unprecedented performance this season

The competition isn’t for the weak of heart. At Raider Competitions — athletic events for JROTC programs across the country — competitors display strength, teamwork, and innovation as they face obstacle courses, strength tests, running either a 10k, or a 5k, and the successful completion of a One Rope Bridge. 

Members of Lee’s Summit West’s Air Force JROTC dominated the field in the All Service division of the All Service National Raider Championships last week in Molena, Georgia.

LSW vs. LSN boys soccer game benefits Sporting KC’s Victory Project

The Lee’s Summit West and Lee’s Summit North boys soccer teams will meet on Oct. 23 for two soccer games to benefit an important local cause.

The “Goal for the Gold” event supports Sporting KC’s Victory Project, which fights childhood cancer.
